The villa located in Ortakent, Bodrum, has been redesigned taking into account user needs and technical possibilities. Open and semi-open spaces, suitable for the Bodrum climate, are arranged in harmony with the enclosed spaces. To accommodate multiple people simultaneously, the open areas have been diversified and the number of bedrooms increased. A technical room housing the water tank has been designed on the ground floor. Access to this room is from street level. The main garden entrance is provided by an arched doorway that references the original design and traditional Bodrum architecture. The middle floor features general living areas and a new kitchen. The kitchen integrates with the courtyard, becoming a space where the family will frequently spend time. Access to the upper floor is provided by a gentle staircase. The area reached by the staircase functions as the terrace of the newly added bedroom on the upper floor. The open circulation designed between this terrace and the terrace on the front facade creates harmony in the plan. A smaller kitchen has been designed next to the new bedroom on the upper floor.
Natural materials have been chosen for the building's facade, in keeping with Bodrum's climate and traditional architecture. Light-colored stucco and stone cladding are used on the walls, while wood has been preferred for shading elements and doors.
