Merzifon Municipality Business and Life Center

This project reinterprets the traditional concept of "life" with a modern public identity, aiming to support urban social life and local identity. The design incorporates functions such as workshops, exhibition spaces, and an open-air theater at different levels, aiming to foster strong connections between users and the city and to allow them to express themselves through artistic production. Engaging in dialogue with historical structures such as the Mustafa Pasha Mosque, Bedesten, and Taşhan, the project adopts an architectural language that is harmonious with the urban fabric and sensitive to the regional climate.

The stone courtyards, event arcades, voids, and viewing balconies that form the main axis of the design both create a microclimate effect, offering comfortable outdoor spaces, and blur the lines between indoor and outdoor areas. This ecological approach, which blends technology with traditional architecture, creates a sustainable social center for Merzifon by offering interconnected, flexible, and living spaces instead of block structures.
