Located in the Kartal district, the Machine Hangar facade, created by transforming an industrial building into a multifunctional science and R&D center, is designed as a semi-transparent covering with an effective and striking parabolic plasticity that gives an idea of the interior. This covering presents a more opaque appearance during the day, while transforming into an exhibition wall when darkness falls. With this striking feature, the building aims to become a new focal point for Istanbul.
The co-working spaces within the Machinery Hangar are designed in a flexible and inviting structure suitable for contemporary work practices. The ground floor of the building houses exhibition areas and a café, while the first floor contains a multi-purpose hall, co-working spaces, workshops, and a terrace connected to the café.
Shared workspaces are designed to be flexible, boundary-free, and distributed throughout the entire floor, in line with current work practices. Formal and informal spaces, suitable for both collaborative and individual work, cater to the diverse needs of users, making the building usable day and night.
